Dr Kalamaoka'aina Niheu is a Kanaka Maoli Family Physician and Associate Medical Director for COVID Response at LifeLong Medical Care. She is also the Co-founder of the Standing Rock Healer's Council and the Mauna Medic Healers Hui, and physician for Onipa'a Na Hui Kalo, a Hawaii wide coalition for the revitalization of Native Hawaiian traditional Kalo farming and Food Sovereignty. Her published works include: "The impact of the military presence in Hawai'i on the health of Na Kănaka Maoli," "Pu'uhonua; Sanctuary and Struggle at Makua, Hawaii," "Indigenous Resistance in an Era of Climate Change Crisis," and "Standing Rock Violence and the Militarization of Police."
