Togzhan Kassenova

Togzhan Kassenova is a Senior Fellow at the Center for Policy Research at SUNY-Albany and a native of Kazakhstan. She is an expert in nuclear politics and Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) nonproliferation and a former Adviser to the United Nations Secretary-General on Disarmament Affairs. A professor and researcher, she is the author of the forthcoming book, Atomic Step: How Kazakhstan Gave Up the Bomb. She also works on financial crime prevention to prevent proliferators from using the global financial system to finance WMD programs.
